To Save America: Stopping Obama's Secular-Socialist Machine
by Newt Gingrich
"America as we know it," says Newt Gingrich, "is now facing
a mortal threat." The Left, he explains, is ignoring the
lessons of history and moving further into ideological
extremism -- reacting to their meager popular support by
seeking to impose a corrupt, Chicago-style political
machine on the entire country. The leftwing Democrats who
currently control the White House, the House of
Representatives, the Senate, and many state capitals are
committed to a secular-socialist ideology that is alien to
America's history and traditions.
"This danger to America," Gingrich says, "is greater than
anything I dreamed possible after we won the Cold War, and
the Soviet Union disappeared in December 1991. We now face
a dire threat to America here at home. We stand at a
crossroads: either we will save our country or we will lose
it.” That's why he wrote To Save America: Stopping Obama's Secular-Socialist Machine.
The Left, Gingrich explains, has expanded their power
through their control of academia, the elite news media,
union leaders, trial lawyers, the bureaucracy, the courts,
and lobbyists at the state and federal levels. They share a
vision of a secular, socialist America run for the
interests of the members of the political machine that
keeps them in power. It will be an America where government
dominates the people rather than represents them. In short,
they want to use government power to change who we are and
how we think. And Barack Obama is working hard to impose
that vision upon America right now.
Gingrich explains why "secular-socialist machine" is the
only way to describe the Left; exposes the lies that
Leftists have told America; explores the secular-socialist
machine's health bill disaster and involvement in ACORN's
vote fraud; and even details why Big Business and the
secular-socialist machine are not enemies, but are actually
natural allies. He exposes the Left's immense corruption as
well, including the corruption of climate science and
corruption at the United Nations.
But that is not all: Gingrich offers a plan to defeat the
secular-socialist regime and herald a new era of America
prosperity in which small businesses flourish, the
entitlement state is dismantled, better healthcare is
available at a lower cost (without healthcare fraud),
religious liberty is protected, and the education crisis is
solved. It's a bold vision for a bold people -- and the need
for it is urgent. "The secular-socialist machine," Gingrich
argues persuasively, "represents as great a threat to
America as Nazi Germany or the Soviet Union once did."
That's why saving America is the fundamental challenge of
our time -- and To Save America essential reading for anyone
who loves America.
Gingrich sounds the alarm:
How the America in which we grew up is vastly different
from the America the secular-socialist Left wants to
create
Barack Obama: how everything we cherish about America is
something he thinks is not so special, not so very
different from any other country
How, if the Left stays in power, it will transform
America into a radically different nation -- a union-
dominated, bureaucratically controlled, high-tax, low-
growth country in which powerful politicians impose their
will on an exhausted, submissive citizenry
Why we must repeal the 2010 big-government healthcare
"reform" -- passed on a narrow partisan basis with
extraordinary corruption and bribery -- and start over in
the right direction with the right policies
How the U.S. government traditionally regarded the
protection of American lives as its top priority: our
primary concern with captured terrorists (or pirates,
their old equivalent) was interrogating them and using
that information to stop further attacks – but now the
secular socialists want to give our enemies the same
constitutional protections we afford our own citizens,
effectively placing the rights of terrorists ahead of the
lives of Americans
The extremist environmental movement: how it asserts that
we will soon face global warming-induced environmental
catastrophes that can only be avoided by forcing Western
capitalist nations, especially America, to adopt
devastating energy taxes, ruinous new environmental
regulations, and a massive wealth transfer to developing
countries (a mantra that has become so popular both among
the American Left and abroad that even Osama bin Laden in
a recent recording thought he could win converts by
blaming the West for global warming) -- but how this
narrative fails to recognize that capitalist democracies
are among the most environmentally conscious nations in
the world
The Left's challenge to American exceptionalism -- the
idea that America has a special mission to protect and
spread freedom: for the secular-socialist Left, however,
America is an exploitive, imperialist aggressor, and that
the U.S. military is an evil tool of corporate interests
The secular-socialist machine's values: how they differ
from traditional American values: while Americans have
always respected hard work, entrepreneurship, innovation,
and merit-based upward mobility, the Leftist machine
rewards its members, punishes "overachievers," kills jobs
by over-taxing small businesses, and even exploits your
death to tax the savings you hope to pass on to your
children and grandchildren
Why the UN tolerates corruption: it's viewed as another
way to transfer wealth from developed to developing
countries
Healthcare: innovative, practical reforms to enable
Americans to build a system that is available,
affordable, and appropriate for every citizen
God in America: how, while traditional America was based
on a profound belief that "we are endowed by our Creator
with certain unalienable rights," secular socialists are
so opposed to God in public life that they can't tolerate
school prayer or even allow a cross to stand in the
middle of the Mojave Desert
